and now for some of my background...
I have been in the decorating & design business for over 30 years and I LOVE it!!!
I worked for a high end furniture store & a few years later became a partner. At that time we also incorporated a manufacturing division for upholstery. Not only was I buying for the store (in San Francisco, Phillipines, Highpoint North Carolina, Santa Fe, Bali, Vietnam, Thailand, Vancouver Island, Saltspring Island (for Canadian local product), Sunshine Coast, Seattle, Florida, Toronto, Winnipeg and Edmonton) but I always kept my eyes open for pieces that my clients would love to have in their homes
I spent the majority of my time going into clients’ homes decorating and assisting to achieve & reflect their lifestyle. This was their home not mine, so it was important to listen but the most important thing was to hear what they had to say and implement what they desired
Years later I became very involved in building and renovations
I LOVE my work with a PASSION!!!
My specialty is color selection. I have had many designers and decorators consult with me over the years regarding color. I would visually color drape people trying to make sure they were surrounded by the best colors suited for them. We tend to take color for granted but color can affect your whole life so don’t be afraid to work with a color consultant
Over the years I have designed, decorated and staged hundreds of homes. My clients come from many walks of life. Entertainers, politicians, inventors, entrepreneurs, many successful people. Whether they were wealthy or not did not come into consideration. I feel that everyone who admits that they need a decorators consultation deserves the opportunity and creative guidance
If there is a budget …so be it. I love a challenge. I have always said “no job is too small”. Whether it's $500 or $500,000 I'm interested in helping you. I have also said that I am here to prevent you from making expensive mistakes. Why do it twice when you can do it right the first time?
In the middle 90’s I opened a boutique furniture and design store. My reason for this was I felt that I could offer bigger discounts to my clients so they didn't feel that they had to compromise to get what they really wanted. The boutique was designed and decorated like a home except it was over accessorized and had price tags. No matter who walked in their first comment was “Boy I could live here”. Only problem was there wasn’t a shower. All kidding aside, it was a wonderful feeling to hear and see peoples reaction to the store when they walked in
Well...there you have it. Hopefully you feel as though you know me a bit better personally. Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you will enjoy feasting your eyes on the many pictures of my work and I look forward to hearing from you very soon
with warm regards,
Alecia :)
PS By the way, I sold the boutique store but I still pass on all my discounts that are currently granted to me by my faithful suppliers
Also when I decorate I try not to do what I call “Fad Style”. I try to decorate in a style that will not date itself. "Classic" is the term. If you choose to have your home in the fad style of course I will do what you want but I may make some suggestions so that in future you will not feel your home has an obvious date stamp on it
